Superb antique 19th century French acid-etched cameo glass vase. The glass is thick and features a vibrant emerald green color. Finished with an all over acid etched textural surface. Encased in sumptuous Empire style gilt bronze mounts. With opulent neoclassical borders decorating the rim and squared base, to the center is a reticulated border surmounted by Grecian wreaths and ribbon. Further decorated with finely detailed appliques, comprising of beautiful females figures in flowing robes representing spring and harvest. To the sides are allegorical figures of music and geometry. The corners of the base are flanked with the figures of majestic Napoleonic eagles clutching laurel and lightening bolts in their talons. Large polished pontil to the base. Unsigned. Likely Mont Joye (Legras & Cie). In very good antique condition. Some general wear to the gilt bronze commensurate with use and age. No chips or cracks to the beautiful green glass. Measures 7 3/8" height x 3 3/4" x 3 1/4" base.
