Antique 19th century French Palais Royal blue opaline egg shaped jewelry box or trinket box with hinged mounts. Resting inside an intricate gilt ormolu basket stand framed by leaves and flowers. Pieces like this were originally sold as luxury souvenirs and gifts in the famous Palais-Royal boutiques of Paris during the Napoleon III era. In overall good antique condition with general wear commensurate with age and use. No chips or cracks. Measures 6 1/8" height x 5 1/4" wide x 2 1/2" deep.
