Exquisite antique 19th century French Palais Royal triple etui necessaire. Featuring three egg shaped etuis, cases or trinket boxes, crafted from mother of pearl half shells set within hinged mounts. Nestled within a gilt bronze ormolu framework comprising of intricate wire strands woven into layers to resemble a bird's nest. Two of the pearl cases open to reveal fitted interiors. One houses a three piece sewing embroidery set of intricate gilt metal comprising of small scissors, thimble and needle case. The other opens to reveal a tear shaped cut crystal perfume scent bottle hand painted with gilt stars; topped by a hinged silver lid; and retains a little glass stopper. The silver mounts bear French hallmarks of the wild boar's head for .800/1000 silver content and a maker's mark. Dimensions: The entire piece stands 6 3/4" height, measures 7" length. The piece is in overall good antique condition with general wear commensurate with age and use. No chips or cracks to the lovely iridescent mother of pearl shells. Some general wear/discoloration to the bronze metal work from age.
