Antique French Napoleon III era pocket watch display stand. Decorated in exquisite neoclassical Empire gilt bronze framework and lined with a pink hued moiré fabric. The top is surmounted with a Napoleonic eagle clutching lightening bolts and laurel, flanked by floral swags and stylized bird heads. The center with a circular mount and hook for hanging a pocket watch, locket or miniature portrait. The base decorated with reticulated feet and ornate scrolling foliage centered by a rosette. Hinged easel backing and loop ring for hanging display. Stands 5 1/4" height x 3 1/4" width x 2 1/4" deep. The velvet lining the central pocket watch round measures about 1 1/8" diameter.
