Antique French .800 silver photo locket pendant. The oval shaped locket features an exquisite applied 14K yellow gold monogram of interlaced initials EA. The locket opens to reveal a hinged glass door within. In overall good antique condition with general wear commensurate with age and use, there is are a couple of indentions to the back. Hallmarked with the French head of the wild boar, in use from 1838 to indicate a silver content of .800/1000. The mark was typically used on small objects of at least 80% pure silver content, close to .925 sterling. Bearing maker's mark for silversmith Maurice Habib active 1919 at 56 rue La Fayette, Paris. Measures 1 7/8" total length including bail, 1 3/8” x 1 1/8” oval x 3/8" thick. Weighs 25.4 g.
