Charming antique French .800 silver sewing thimble. Featuring an embossed band decorated neoclassical style foliage and ribbon and reed edging framing an oval cartouche. Measures 1" height x 5/8" diameter opening. Hallmarked with the French head of the wild boar, in use from 1838 to indicate a silver content of .800/1000. The mark was typically used on small objects of at least 80% pure silver alloy. In overall good antique condition with general wear and scratches commensurate with age and use, no dents or holes to the thimble.
