
Antique French sterling silver and cut glass stoppered liquor decanter from the Belle Epoque era. Featuring a clear cut glass body richly decorated with intaglios of garlands suspended from ribbon bows and wheel cut fluting. Adorned with French sterling silver mounts at the stopper, collar and base. Decorating the stopper and collar is a neoclassical relief of laurel leaves. Hallmarked with the French standard mark depicting the goddess Minerva with a number 1, to indicate a silver content of .950/1000. Bearing maker's mark for Parisian silversmith Joseph CROSSARD, active from 1900-1920, whose firm was located at 36 rue de Montmorency in Paris. In overall good antique condition, there is a nick to the opening mouth of the bottle just below the silver rim, some dimples to the silver collar and stopper mount. Stands 7 3/8" x 2 1/2" wide at the shoulder.
