Gorgeous antique French sterling silver serving set comprised of 4 exquisite hors d'oeuvre servers. Including a pair of flat servers or knives and a pair of four tine forks. An exceptional set, crafted from the highest quality French sterling silver and richly decorated. Finely engraved details adorn the blades and forks tines, patterned with scrolled foliate, rocailles and vines. The handles patterned with scrolling foliage and tipped by a scalloped shell. The service ends topped by a stylized acanthus motif embellished further with sprigs of oak leaves or leaves with berries. In overall good condition with general wear. Hallmarked with the French Minerve 1st standard mark, which guaranteed the finest quality French sterling silver of .950/1000 purity in use from 1838 (95% pure silver and higher grade than the standard .925 for sterling). Also bearing maker's marks for Parisian silversmith Henri Soufflot, who commence trade at 89 rue de Turbigo, Paris from 1884 - 1910. Housed in the original presentation box. Forks measure 6 1/8" length, Knives are 6 3/4". Total silver weighs 131.3 grams. Box measures 8" x 5 3/4".
