Antique Belle Epoque era French sterling silver napkin ring decorated with an applied raised medallion shaped applique with oval cartouche. Heavily decorated with flowers and roses among lush leaves, topped by a ribbon bow. Monogrammed with interlaced initials IE in elegant script. Measures 1 1/2" height x 2 1/8" diameter. Weighs 43.7 grams. Hallmarked with the French Minerve 1st standard mark, which guaranteed the finest quality French sterling silver of .950/1000 purity in use from 1838 (95% pure silver and higher grade than the standard .925 for sterling). Marked for silversmith Adolphe Roustang, active 1909-1929 at 30 rue Beaubourg, Paris. In overall good condition with general wear commensurate with use and age, slightly out of round and a couple of very shallow dimples on the smooth blank sides of the napkin ring.
