
George IV sterling silver vinaigrette made by Joseph Willmore. Features rectangular form with engine turn engraving. Blank rectangular cartouche. Decorative floral thumbpiece. Silver gilt interior with a finely pieced and engraved gilded grille decorated with scrolls surrounding a central rosette. Hallmarked for Birmingham 1830, maker's mark for Joseph Willmore. Willmore registered his mark from 1808 to 1843. Measures 1 1/2" x 1 1/8" x 3/8". Weighs 19.6g. In overall good antique condition with general wear commensurate with age and use. A shallow indentation to the lid just above the cartouche and to the base. There is a lack to one knuckle on the back hinge as shown, hinge is wobbly as a result.
