George III sterling silver vinaigrette pendant by silversmith John Reily. In the form of a book, the front and back engraved with a checkered or lattice motif. The hinge ornamented to mimic the spine of a book and the inside sides detailed to look like pages. Opening to a gilt interior with fine pierced and engraved grille with geometric design. Hallmarked for London 1804, maker's mark for John Reily. Measures (sans bail) 1 5/16" x 7/8" x 3/8", hangs 1 5/8" with bail. In overall very good antique condition with general wear commensurate with age and use.
