Charming antique heart shaped porcelain snuff box or tabatiere. Richly decorated in Louis XVI style, raised gold enamel scrolling foliage and lattice motifs, hand painted with various colorful flowers. Famed by ornate gilt bronze mounts and hinge. Opening to a gold painted interior. Marked on the base with an unknown crowned mark painted in gold, likely French or German origin. Measures 3 1/4" x 3 1/8" x 1 1/4" height. In overall good condition with general wear. There appears to be a chip to the interior just below the hinge that was painted over in gold, this is visible in the picture showing the interior, though this could be a manufacture flaw.
