These boxes are getting harder and harder to find! An antique 19th century Bohemian Moser sugar casket of ruby glass decorated throughout in hand painted raised enamel and heavy gilding. The decoration includes heavy gold gilding with charming colorful birds on silvered grounds, further enhanced by various raised enamel florals and scrollwork. The lid is edged in white enameled 'jewels' or dots. The glass box is a rich ruby red color with beveled edges and clipped corners. Bronze or brass mounts circle the box, centered by a rounded escutcheon-shaped lock and adorned with handles on either side. This Moser box rests on a stand of four ornate ball feet. Marked with the number 15. painted in gold gilt on the interior lid and the interior of the bottom portion, typical of Moser to indicate that both glass parts are matching. Such a rare piece to behold and perfect for the upcoming holidays to sit at your table or make a wonderful gift! Treat yourself! These old Moser boxes do not come up often and in such fine condition as this one offered here! In overall very good antique condition with no chips or cracks to the glass.
