
Antique mid-19th century Scottish traditional tartanware box housing three Grand Tour perfume bottles each with Parisian souvenir scenes. Scottish name tag in gold 'Clan Stuart' to the lid. The box opens to the front with a push button mechanism. Opening to reveal a satin lined interior with velvet covered fitted compartments. Housing 3 French perfume bottles of hand blown glass and square in form. With decorative gilt ormolu hinged lids and collars topped by verre eglomise (reverse painted) miniature portraits of Parisian landmarks. Retaining their original glass stoppers. The Grand Tour scenes includes the Louvre, Panthéon of Paris and the Eglise de la Madeleine (Madeleine Church). In overall good to excellent antique condition with general wear commensurate with age and use. No chips or cracks to the bottles. Box measures 5 3/8" x 2 1/8" x 3 3/8". Bottles measure 2 1/2" height x 1 3/8" square.
