An exceptional antique 19th century Royal Vienna porcelain tray. Beautifully hand painted and richly decorated in raised impasto gold enamel. Portraying the goddess Diana and her companions resting after a hunt. The figures are semi-nude and depicted in colorful robes along with their hunting dogs in a forest setting beside a pond. The scene is vibrant in color and rich in composition, exquisitely hand painted in masterful detail. Framed with gold trim embellished in raised enamel accents. The border surrounding the scene features charming vignettes hand painted in raised gold enamel on pink and cobalt blue backgrounds. The scenes comprise of birds in various poses and classical flower filled urns. The tray is surrounded by gorgeous openwork tracery with gilded accents and trim. A stunning decorative piece of outstanding artistry. Marked to the reverse with the Vienna beehive or shield mark in blue underglaze, as well as impressed numbers. In overall very good condition, no chips or cracks, some general wear to the gilding commensurate with age and use. The tray measures 13” length x 9 7/8” width x 2” height.
