Gorgeous antique 19th century Art Nouveau French sterling silver napkin ring. Crafted from 95% pure silver and elegantly styled with a border of guilloche engraved Art Nouveau iris flowers on a textured ground. Hallmarked with the French Minerve 1st standard hallmark, which depicts the head of the goddess Minerva with a number 1 beside her to designating a silver content of .950/1000 silver (95% pure silver and higher than the standard .925 for sterling silver). Bearing a maker's mark for Parisian silversmith Adolphe Boulenger, active from 1876-1899, whose workshop was located at 4 rue du Vert-Bois in Paris. In overall good condition. Measures 1 3/8" tall x 2" diameter. Weighs 36.6 grams.
