Antique French gilt bronze ormolu mounted vase. The body is of thick quality blown glass with fluting or ribbed paneling to the interior. Shaped with an elongated flared neck, terminating to a deep cylindrical waist, standing on a circular pedestal base. Perfect for holding larger bouquets of flowers with a good weight at the bottom. The ormolu mounts include an ornate rim, collar and base. The rim features an ornate patterned frieze surmounted by appliques with foliage, ribbon and flowers. An ornate collar encircles the vase with reticulated lattice, floral garland swags, flower filled baskets, ribbon bows, and bountiful cornucopias. The base stands on four lion paw feet, embellished with stylized foliage and cornucopias. In good antique condition with no chips or cracks to the glass body. The mounts show wear commensurate with age. There are a couple of lacks to the decoration on the ormolu collar as shown- to the bow and tassel on one side and to the tail end of one bow on the opposite side. Some scratches to the interior of the glass. Measures 15 1/8" tall x 7 1/2" at its widest, the opening measures 3 5/8" diameter.
