Pair of antique French Sevres ceramic vases by Paul Milet, son of Felix Optatus Milet. Featuring beautiful mottled blue/ green flambe glazed vases enhanced by gilt bronze mounts. Finely casted mounts include movable handles patterned with neoclassical foliage and bases decorated with rocailles. Marked for Paul Milet and Sevres, within a dotted circle, this mark was in use circa 1911. Optat Milet began his career as a modeler for Sèvres in 1862, and opened his own ceramics factory in 1866. His son Paul Jean Milet took over operations shortly before the turn of the century and ran the company until 1931. The vases are in very good condition with no damage, chips or cracks, some fine craquelure in the glaze. Stands 4" height x 2 7/8" width.
