A charming set of 6 French Limoges porcelain plates by Raynaud & Co. Circa early 20thc. Mounted with a sterling silver rim bearing French hallmarks and crafted by the firm of Parisian silversmith Emile Puiforcat. In the pattern Chen-Yang. This particular pattern is in the style of 18th century Chinese export porcelain and was a special edition made exclusively for Puiforcat in collaboration with Raynaud. Plates measure 7 5/8" diameter. The silver rims are hallmarked with the French Minerve 1st standard mark used from 1838, which depicts the goddess Minerva with a number 1 beside her to denote a silver content of .950/1000. Bearing makers marks for the silversmith firm of Emile Puiforcat. Back of the plates marked for the renowned manufacturer Raynaud & Cie (this mark was in use from 1910 to 1952 ). Marked in green Limoges France. Also marked in French: "Modèle Puiforcat édité par Raynaud, Chen-Yang Chine 18 ème". In overall good vintage condition, some stack wear to the central blue borders as shown, no chips or cracks.
