Impressive antique French silvered bronze figural wax seal. Superb casted solid bronze figure, finely detailed. Representing Saint Michael the Archangel defeating the Devil, depicted as a serpent dragon. Saint Michael, one of the nine patron saints of France, patron saint of warriors, soldiers and police officers, and many other vocations, is depicted in armor with sword in hand as he casts Satan out of Heaven. The matrix with highly stylized monogram of interlaced initials DA or AD. Measures 3 5/8" height x 1 1/4" widest. In overall good antique condition with general wear to the silver plating commensurate with age and use.
