Large Art Deco French Sevres ceramic vase by Paul Jean Milet, son of Felix Optatus Milet. Optat Milet began his career as a modeler for Sèvres in 1862, and opened his own ceramics factory in 1866. His son Paul Jean Milet took over operations shortly before the turn of the century and ran the company until 1931. Stunning Art Deco vase of baluster form featuring “blue flambé” glaze with gorgeous blue to green tones. Set within heavy metal mounts. Flanked by impressive Greek key handles, collar and base with a textured surface. To the bottom is an applied rose and leaf detail which is also echoed to the top of the vase. Marked PM for Paul Millet and Sevres, within a dotted circle, this mark was in use circa 1930. Stands 17 5/8" height x 6 3/8" wide across the handles. In good condition with general wear to the metal mounts.
