Vintage Czechoslovakian hair comb featuring a cluster of 106 Bohemian pyrope garnets, exhibiting a dark burgundy color that radiates a vibrant red when illuminated by light. The header is crafted from .900 silver and is densely encrusted with scores of Bohemian garnets. These gemstones are famous for their fiery, deep wine-red hue. They are prong set with open backs to allow light to pass through the stones. Larger, round garnets serve as prominent, elevated focal punctuation points across the top of the arch. Attached by a pivoting hinge to a 3-prong hair comb. The silver mount is hallmarked 900 (90% silver), G2 (for the jeweler Granat Turnov), and a hare's head to indicate Czech silver in use from 1957. In overall good vintage condition with general wear commensurate with age and use. Measures 3 3/4" total length, the gallery measures 3" wide x 1 1/4" height.
